538 The Shores Custom Home - Update 3/15/17

Once complete, this luxury private residence will boast 4 bedrooms, 4 bathrooms, and breathtaking canal front views all while employing ultra-strong insulated concrete form construction.

Construction started on January 16, with crews hard at work since then preparing the site for construction. After surveying and measuring the site, dump trucks and bulldozers and other heavy equipment began to unload and move material to make the lot more suitable for home construction. After measuring and marking for walls and plumbing, construction crews began digging lines to lay pipes, rebar, and other building components before pouring the concrete construction. Since, they have poured the concrete foundations and have started to erect the walls of the structure using insulating concrete form (ICF) blocks. These blocks are pieced together like building blocks, then concrete is poured in the wall cavity to act as a strengthening and insulating material. Using this technique, construction crews are able to erect walls and other structures quickly and easily. Most recently, work has begun on the floor beams for the second story of this custom home. Workers cut and prep rebar in order to form the beams. Once concrete is poured over the rebar supports, the wooden molds and supports will be removed and work will begin on the floor of the second story.
