Cayman Structural Group Continues to Spearhead Islands’ Residential and Commercial Development

Could you imagine a world without electricity? Or what about the modern conveniences of plumbing? Most of us can’t imagine leaving our homes without our smartphones or bothered with the trivial inconvenience of a traffic jam, how would we have survived the the world 100 years ago? We certainly live in a time of luxury and comfort. Our forefathers before us spent the bulk of their time simply trying to live off the land and outsmart whatever predator or disease that besieged them. They sacrificed their time developing ingenious ideas to make our lives easier. Vacations are a relatively new concept, as well. The very notion of taking time off from work for rest was unheard of! Notions of constructing ‘vacation’ homes in paradise soon took root and coastlines became bejeweled with breathtaking luxury homes that were outfitted with all the modern conveniences. There strides in residential and commercial development would not be possible without hard work and technological breakthroughs.

Did you know that widespread electrification of the islands was not made possible until the mid 1960s? To keep pace with the islands’ rapid developments, the Caribbean Utilities Commission undertook the arduous task of providing reliable power for the burgeoning population and flocks of tourists that now frequented the islands. Since the islands do not have access to neither hydroelectric generators or thermal resources, the island must primarily rely on diesel generators to produce a constant stream of juice. Cayman Structural Group continues to play an integral role in the islands’ developments. In addition to engineering and constructing awe-inspiring luxury homes that are the envy of the entire island, Cayman Structural Group has undertook several key infrastructural projects.

Connecting the Modern World with The Treasures of the Islands

When we are not chiseling away at masterpieces on some sandy beach, we are strengthening the islands’ power grid and civil services. Since we operate on such a finite area with a group of wonderful people, it’s important that all businesses and government entities come together to constantly improve our treasured beaches and infrastructure. Recently, our CSG crews and contractors put the finishing touches on the CUC substation. As you may know, substations play a pivotal role in providing residents electricity. Substations convert power system voltage from transmission levels to distribution levels so it can be safely delivered to homes and businesses. Like with any infrastructure project, the CUC substation consisted with of a lot of concrete work (our specialty) and electrical outfitting. There were also drainage and plumbing issues that were addressed with drain lines. We also assisted with drywall finishing, which we also provide to residential luxury homes, to complete the substation’s interior.

All Roads Lead to Paradise

We didn’t stop with the substation project either. CSG was also recently recruited to provide foundation and construction work for a facility that will serve the Cayman Department of Vehicles and Equipment Services. In addition to providing ongoing formwork both bathrooms and showers, we assisted in concrete slab work. Building a strong foundation is a must in any environment, especially one that is frequented by monstrous hurricanes and thunderstorms. Whether it’s perfecting vacation island getaways or bolstering current infrastructural needs, Cayman Structural Group is dedicated to the meeting the needs of locals and those jetsetters who are looking to make the islands their home away home.
